A Gravatt Wedding

Thank you for thinking about having your wedding at Gravatt. A wedding at Gravatt is a different experience than you will have at any other facility. Our unique setting is rustic, personal, serene, and God-filled. All of Gravatt is a sanctuary.

In order to better serve you, we want to make you aware of Gravatt’s policies for weddings.

·         For the couple wanting exclusive use of the conference side on a weekend, a minimum fee of $5000 per day/night will be charged. This may include your ceremony and reception space, lodging, and meals. Minimums for weekday and camp side weddings can be negotiated. Couples not requesting exclusive use may have to share public space with other guests.

·         Lodging rates are $65 per room per night in Cole Lodge (single or double occupancy) and $55 per person per night in Cottages (single or double occupancy).

·         Lodge and Cottage rooms used for other than lodging (i.e. dressing room, nursery, etc.) are $50 per day.

·         Meals are additional and based on number of people eating. Meal rates begin at $10 per person for breakfast, $12 per person for lunch or brunch, and $15 per person for dinner. Actual cost depends on the menu agreed upon with the conference center director.

·         Use of the Chapel of the Transfiguration at no additional charge requires a minimum of $1000 in other services/ accommodations. If other services/ accommodations are not requested, there is a $1000 flat rate fee for use of the Chapel.

·         For exclusive use contracts, all fees are charged against the minimum. In the event accommodations requested do not total $5000 per day/night, the minimum will be charged. If accommodations requested total over $5000 per day/night, the actual amount will be charged.

·         A 50% nonrefundable deposit on the estimated total contract is due within 10 days of booking in order to reserve your space. For exclusive use, $2500 is the minimum deposit.

·         A guaranteed count is due two weeks prior to your arrival, and the balance due on the guaranteed contract amount is due at this time PLUS a $500 refundable security deposit and $100 insurance fee (insurance fee can be waived if you show proof of $1M liability insurance rider, sometimes available through your property insurance provider). Security deposit will be returned within two weeks of event if no damage is done to property and no excessive cleaning is required by Gravatt staff.

·         For a Saturday wedding with Friday night rehearsal, space will be available for decorating beginning at 4 PM on Friday afternoon. Space can be made available earlier only if a meal is scheduled for Friday lunch or overnight accommodations are scheduled for Thursday night.

·         Use of Gravatt catering is required for conference center side. Outside catering may be used on camp side with approval and a kitchen use fee.

·         Gravatt does not provide wedding cakes, floral arrangements, DJ, photographer, sound system, or décor other than what is normally available. We can recommend some local resources if you would like.

·         Gravatt has a limited number of tables and chairs. They work well for our setting, but we can recommend a local rental company for your additional needs. Parties over 100 will need to rent/provide dinner service (plates, flatware, etc.).

·         Alcohol use by a minor and the use of illegal drugs are prohibited.  Although Gravatt does not serve alcohol, groups may bring their own, so long as they also provide non-alcoholic alternatives. You are responsible for bartending and insuring that minors are not served alcohol.  Drunkenness is unacceptable behavior at Gravatt.  Persons electing to consume alcohol should do so in moderation and in such a way that other guests are not disturbed. 

·         All buildings – including screened buildings – are tobacco free. Tobacco use by those of legal age is to take place only in outside areas away from doors, and cigarette butts must be properly disposed of in disposal stations provided. Groups failing to follow this policy will be charged a substantial cleaning fee.

·         Friday check-in is 4 PM. Sunday check-out is 10 AM. Early check-in or late departure must be negotiated in advance and are subject to additional fees.
