Accredited by the American Camp Association, Camp Gravatt is a
residential, Christian summer camp for boys and girls entering first
through twelfth grades. Our commitment to maintaining ACA
accreditation means we give priority to keeping up with camp
industry standards for the safety, health, and well-being of your
children in all areas of camp participation.
We have an average staff to camper ratio of 1 to 4. Campers live in
platform tents and screened cabins with a counselor or, for campers
in fifth grade and under, a counselor and junior counselor.
Our counselors are college aged (and older) individuals who show
great capacity for providing a safe and nurturing environment for
children and youth. They go through an application and interview
process and must pass a criminal background check each year. All of
our counselors are trained in first aid and CPR. They
participate in an extensive training week prior to the start of
camp, and receive additional training in specific program areas.
Campers eat three balanced meals each day and are provided snacks
and canteen each day as well. We work closely with parents of
children with special dietary or other health needs. A healthcare
supervisor is on-site at all times and administers routine
medications as well as first aid when needed. An RN remains on-call
throughout our camp sessions, and we have a relationship with local
healthcare providers in Aiken for emergencies.
If you have any questions about Camp Gravatt, please contact our
camp director. We welcome you
to visit prior to your camper's session so that you can feel
completely comfortable with your decision to send your child to Camp
Gravatt.
